On March 23rd 2010 the health reform 'jury' ended deliberations. The verdict? Affordable high quality health care is a right best facilitated through mandated access to health insurance. Recognizing the threat of skyrocketing health care costs, Jon Rauser came to a similar conclusion in 1981! Since then he has been a vocal broker advocate for the many client businesses of The Rauser Agency, Inc and the employees of those firms.

Located in downtown Milwaukee, Jon and his agency associates have a practical understanding of how the design, implementation and management of a health plan can contribute to the well being and security of covered lives. Jon's insights have been the subject of frequent media features including an appearance on the NBC Evening News with Tom Brokaw. "Try delivering a 25% premium increase to an employer struggling to keep their doors open", says Jon. "You know if they can't afford the premium then they most certainly won't be able to afford a $90,000 hospital stay. Together, we find solutions." It is that front lines experience and insight that is sought out by policymakers and enables him to speak knowledgably at health care forums or to business groups.

Jon is a member of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) serving on their "Blue Print for Prosperity" Health Care Committee. He is also an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) - the largest professional organization of benefits specialists in the country - serving as the state chapter President in 2006. He is also on the Advisory Boards of the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute (WPRI) and the Wisconsin Chapter of Americans for Prosperity (AFP).

In the wake of health reform, change is happening at a dizzying pace. At a blog - (www.RauserHealthReview.com) - Jon tries to share as often as possible items of particular interest, or those that may be under-reported by traditional media.

A University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee graduate, Jon and his wife Sandy live in the Town of Grafton, where he just completed a six year tenure as Chairman of the Open Space/Land Preservation Commission. At noon on Tuesdays, you might find him at the (Rotary Club) of Milwaukee; other days jogging from (The Milwaukee Athletic Club). "If you join me at (Al's Run)" says Jon, "I can almost guarantee your health costs will go down!"
